If you are traveling to Fort Lauderdale with your family this year and are in need of ideas for family-friendly vacation stops, check out these locations. Each spot is sure to offer a fun-filled day of activities for you and your kids.
Kids will have an awesome time scaling rock walls, maneuvering through rope courses, running through the laser maze and bouncing around inside of the Funderdome. This indoor entertainment center is a great option for days when the weather is too hot or muggy. The best part is that it offers separate play areas for the big kids and littles. Children under the age of three have access to the “Toddler Zone,” a kid-safe play area with soft cushions and non-motorized play toys.
Las Olas Boulevard
For the days when you want to hit the shops for some unique finds, head on over to Las Olas Boulevard. Spanning several blocks and populated with unique shops, galleries, and cafes, this shopping district has something for everyone. Located on the waterfront the entertainment district can be quickly accessed from the beach and even via water taxi. If you and the kids are in the mood for a tasty treat, there are also a number of ice cream shops and kid-friendly eateries located throughout the area.
The Museum of Discovery and Science
If your child is the type of kid that likes to put their hands on everything, then this is the perfect spot to visit. Hands-on exploration is both welcome and encouraged at this 85,000 square-foot museum. Home to a number of natural and physical science exhibits, the Museum features a 300-seat IMAX Theatre, educational programming, a “Florida Ecospaces,” where kids can discover more about Florida’s ecosystem, and play in the “Living in the Everglades,” exhibit, where they can learn more about the Florida Everglades.
Young at Art Museum
This unique Museum in Fort Lauderdale works to educate kids and young adults about art and imagination. Through hands-on exhibits and activities guests explore a variety of art and artistic methods. Through ArtScapes, CultureScapes, GreenScapes, WonderScapes, Knight Gallery and Bedlam Lorenz Assembly, kids learn about different cultures, art, cities, nature, music, books, and a variety of other artistic elements. Families can attend special events and programs for children and teens or take advantage of the general admission to the museum.
